Evelyn had her name mentioned in the Tennessean last Sunday, along with her mommy and daddy. Here is the link to the article:

Circle of Life
So it was back to the pediatrician last Wednesday because Evelyn had been fussier than usual the whole week. As it turns out, what we thought was acid reflux is actually just plain colic. Since I put my mom through the joys of colic as a baby, the circle of life is complete now that I have to deal with it!
Here is our return from the doctor. Evelyn finally fell asleep in the car seat, and I didn't want to lift her out and wake her.
The good news is that she is putting on weight very well...she is up to 8lbs 11oz!
I did some research and found that chiropractic can be helpful with colic. Here is our longtime chiropractor, Dr. Dedmon, checking out her spine.
She got 3 extremely gentle adjustments and was much calmer overall.
She normally has her colic crying fits anywhere from 3 to 8 in the afternoon. Here she is finally settling down with Daddy yesterday. Those cheeks are getting chubbier every day!

1 Month Old
Evelyn is 1 month old today. Here she is sleeping in with Daddy on Sunday morning.
Enjoying some lamb swing time.
Finally taking a nap. She often sleeps with her hands in mid-air like this.
Evelyn today at 1 month, April 17, 2012.
She likes: stretching on her changing table and looking at the bird pictures on the wall
wailing for 5 seconds right before she falls asleep
snuggling with Daddy from 9 to 12 so that Mommy can sleep
making grunting noises at night from 3 to 7am
being cute all the rest of the time!

Weeks Three and Four
Of course, after all of our helpers had gone, little Evelyn stopped taking her long, quiet naps and stopped sleeping well at night. A trip to the doctor revealed that she has a touch of colic and acid reflux. The good news is that she is gaining lots of weight and is otherwise a very healthy, happy baby.
Look at my chubby cheeks...I am almost 8 lbs and growing!
Getting a lesson in proper burping techniques with Nurse Emily
Fortunately for Mommy and Daddy, Grandma Mikrut came for a visit so that we could get some much needed sleep.
Finally...her first long afternoon nap in days. And then of course, she wasn't that tired at night!
Evelyn's First Easter
We had a low key Easter Sunday just hanging out with our baby. Here she is dressed up in her Easter outfit with lots of bunnies.
And now resting after the traumatic photo shoot.
