Evelyn at 13 Months

Well, Evelyn has been keeping us busy as she explores the entire house and opens every cabinet.  This explains my lack of blogging for the past 3 weeks!  She is very silly and makes us laugh all of the time.  She can officially walk now as of Friday, and she likes to walk and talk holding anything to her ear just like it's a cell phone.  She is also very loving and likes to give hugs and pats to us and her stuffed animals.  Other favorites...

She REALLY loves hanging out in the refrigerator.  Maybe she is very warm-blooded.  Who knows?

She likes to crawl into small spaces like her toy box.

She LOVES avocado and peanut butter.  She has also just started mastering a spoon and fork.

She enjoys sitting on things like her step stool and her caboose.

And she still likes necklaces.

She enjoys the ipad mini.

But she also likes to pretend she is writing or drawing with this tiny empty pen and notepad.

Her new favorite spot is under the dining room table.  She still plays with her mini wine bottles from the Easter hunt in Texas.

She is also fond of lounging.  Several times a day she will suddenly lean back against something or go all the way down to the floor on her back.  Here she is lounging in her toy box.

Meet Me in St. Louis

A few weekends ago, we helped our friends, Brendon and Emily, move the first load of their belongings to St.Louis where they will be living for 3 years while Brendon attends chiropractic school.  Emily, Evelyn and I headed out on Friday so that Emily could do some interviews.  Eddie and Brendon left on Saturday in the moving truck.  At the Childrens' Hospital, Evelyn discovered corded phones for the first time in the lobby.

Robert Poe lives a few blocks from their new apartment.  It was so good to see him again!

We ate dinner at a great Thai restaurant on Friday night.  Evelyn likes those big soup spoons.

Back at the apartment on the air mattress, Poe reads us Goodnight Moon.

The happy couple outside of their new place.

Fuzzy group dinner shot.

Poor Evelyn was not feeling so great.  The next morning, before we left for home, she had her first bout of severe constipation.  Lucky for us, Emily is a nurse, and she fixed her right up!  She also got a new bottom tooth that day, too.

Not wanting to eat...

Evelyn and Mr.Bear

Over the weekend, our neighbors Pat and George held a yard sale, and Evelyn and I walked over to say hello.  Pat kindly gave Evelyn this bear that had been given to her by her mother.  Well, Evelyn cannot stop hugging and patting "Mr. Bear."  Thanks so much, Pat!  He went to a good home where he will be loved!  (And she is also climbing into laundry baskets a lot:)

Spring Break in Dallas

Before Easter, my mom and I went to Dallas while I was on Spring Break from teaching to visit with all of the relatives.  On Palm Sunday, Great Grandma hosted everyone for a craw-fish boil, Aunt Sue put together an egg hunt for the little girls with Easter baskets from Aunt Marian, and Uncle Butch took care of the grown-up "egg" hunting.

Here is Evelyn a midst all of the eggs in the living room.

These are the 3 E's...Emma, Elizabeth and Evelyn

Evelyn had a necklace in one of her eggs.  She is now obsessed with these mardi gras necklaces, and she wears them around our house all the time.

All the E's have necklaces.

Great Grammy with Elizabeth and Grammy with Evelyn.

Aunt Sue was the perfect height for Evelyn to walk around with.

The grown-ups got to hunt for grown-up beverages, but the babies wanted to look at our loot.  Here are Elizabeth and Evelyn with some Jagermeister (completely unopened!)

Evelyn gives Uncle Carlton some 'tude.

Now checking out the beer.

On Monday, we got to visit Uncle Sam's houseboat and have dinner.  Evelyn checks out Nicole and Emma after dinner.

On the boat, Emma shared her toys, and Evelyn loved this picnic basket.

We played below deck with Uncle Sam and our necklaces.

Evelyn enjoyed "mountain climbing" up and down the steps.  Grammy stepped in when my arms were getting tired.

Sleeping in after a late night on the water.

On Tuesday we journeyed to Aunt Sue's house for dinner and to enjoy the twins' school wind ensemble concert.

Evelyn drove the tractor.

And "rode" Joker

She spider monkeyed up the patio furniture.

And took some long walks.

With her Great-Grammy

The four generations of women.

And giving Uncle Butch the eye...but she warmed up to him eventually on his way back through Nashville.

We had so much fun...I wish I had taken more photos with everyone.

Then it was a low key Easter at our house.  I was a little under the weather, so we just watched Evelyn look in her basket on Easter morning.

Letting Uncle Butch give her a bottle...so sweet!
