6 Months Old

Wow!  I can't believe our Evelyn has already reached her 6 month birthday.  She is growing so smart and strong and starting to do big girl things.   She is also very ticklish now and has the cutest, deep giggle for such a tiny girl.

Here she is in the morning after a solid 5 hours of sleep looking happy and rested.

The start of the NFL season was a big deal for her.  She was even ranked #1 for the first week in her football pool.

Go, Steelers!

The women in Eddie's office told him about a nearby consignment sale for kids.  Eddie picked up this Baby Einstein jumperoo for less than half the retail price.  Evelyn LOVES it.

We can even tote it around, and she is occupied while we cook dinner or get things done around the house.

She's such a big girl now that she got her first tooth.  Just the top is peeking out, but you can definitely see it. She keeps running her tongue along it and still chewing on everything in sight.

Last Monday was her 6 month check-up.  She is in perfect health and still our dainty princess.  Here she is helping Nurse Emily type in the info.  On a sad note...Emily is moving on to an awesome job at Vanderbilt and won't be at our pediatrician's office any longer.  We were glad to have her for one last visit and are so happy for her and her new job!

Here are her stats:
length: 24.5 inches, 15th percentile
weight: 14 pounds, 15th percentile
head circumference: 10th percentile
weight and length: 35th percentile

She had a great check-up and only cried for 10 seconds after getting 4 shots.  She couldn't wait to kick around on the crinkle paper some more.

She still loves playing with her toys and can almost sit up by herself.

We also reorganized her closet.  All of the 3 month clothes have been put away.  She is now wearing size 6 months.   Here is her new fall wardrobe.

Too small clothes

Bye-bye small clothes.  I'm a big girl now.

5 Month Photos

Here are Evelyn's 5 month portraits.  She did great as usual considering the people in front of us went a whole hour over schedule.

Dinner Club

On Saturday night, our friends, Kim and Tim, hosted the first night of their new dinner club.  There are 4 couples, and we'll rotate hosting dinner once each month.  Kim cooked a delicious chicken dinner, and we're next to host so I have to start planning!

Evelyn in her Pirates baseball gear and baby Jo...Jo is only 3 and half months old and as big as Evelyn!

She got a little fussy and clingy as it was past her bedtime.

Finally, I get to play with Jo.

Thanks for a great time, Yeagers!

Labor Day Fun

Grandma and Grandpa came to visit Thursday and Friday and Labor Day last week.  It was a short but fun visit as we haven't seen them since the end of May while they were in California.

Grandma gets a snuggle.

Mesmerized by the piano game on Grandma's Kindle Fire.

Lots of "paparazzi" during the visit!

Showing Grandma her play gym skills.

Grandpa laughs at Evelyn's ability to put all of her fingers in her mouth

Setting up the photo shoot...

Grandparents and Evelyn.

Of course, Evelyn will not show off her roll over skills on demand!

Fantasy football talk.

More paparazzi.

No more photos please!

Too short of a visit!

Father/Daughter Day

Last Saturday, I subbed for some ballet classes most of the day, so Daddy and Evelyn got to have some quality time together.  Eddie thought it was fun to dress her up in her pink sneakers.  Evelyn just wanted to munch on them.

Standing like a big girl!

They spent some time at the Main Library downtown.  Here she is in the elevator.

Still deciding which book to check out...

Back home in the high chair.

Checking out Daddy's phone

What was that?  She's so curious about everything...always needing to know what is happening and who's where.

Cutie-pie!

Later that night, Emily came for dinner while Brendon was out of town.

She took a picture of the three of us since we always just take pics of the baby.

That night she looked like a little angel sleeping on the monitor.
