Evelyn's First Beach Vacation

Our annual family vacation to Seagrove Beach, Florida, was the last week of June.  It was also Evelyn's first beach experience.  She did so great in the car for the 8 hour trip...only fussing when she was hungry or needed to stretch.

Tropical Storm Debby greeted us on our first full day.  It was a complete rain out.

But we made the most of it by heading to the outlet mall for some shopping.  Eddie carried Evelyn in the Bjorn carrier.

She was so comfortable that she fell asleep.

Later that evening, we celebrated Eddie, Tom, and Tommy's summer birthdays.

On Monday, there were still double red warning flags, but we took Evelyn down to the beach for an afternoon stroll.

The rest of the week was sunny and beautiful as Debby took a fortunate turn to the east.

Checking out the early morning sun from our nice view.

Uncle Tom with the baby girls.

Evelyn and Grammy play with Grace's toys over breakfast.

Eddie plays with Tommy's toys...his new gun and holster set.

Tommy was really sweet with Evelyn and would talk to her in a high voice.  He also let her play with his toy, Woody, from Toy Story.

All the kids enjoyed the bunk beds.

At 3 o'clock everyday, we took Evelyn down to the beach when the sun was less powerful.  Here she is in her suit and hat.

Keeping the sun out of her eyes.

Falling asleep to the sound of ocean waves.

And now the cat napper is awake.

On Wednesday night, we did our own family photo shoot.

Pap pap and Grammy with the grandkids.

Our family photo.

The Rennie crew.

We also did a group Pirate fans photo. (Check out the other family blogs for the full group photos:) Evelyn got a Pirate's onesie and hair bows from Grammy to wear.

Aunt Christine with Gracie.

Eddie had brought the kids' movie "Despicable Me" for us to watch.  Tommy would wake up in the morning and ask, "What's the name of that movie that I like? Can I watch it?"  He watched it a few times a day.  Even Evelyn got into it.

Last day at the beach..

Pap pap holds a sleeping Evelyn while we enjoy the water.

Even Evelyn walks out into the waves with Daddy.

Staying in the shade with snacks.

Shielding baby from the sudden strong ocean breeze.

Evelyn and godparents Aunt Michelle and Uncle Tom (and Despicable Me on the TV, of course)

The other great part of the trip was getting to sleep at night!  Evelyn slept so great...only getting up once at night for the most part.  Plus, Grammy took her for a few nights and Michelle and Tom did a night.  Thanks so much!

As we were loading the car on Saturday morning, Evelyn decided to take one more nap.

What a great trip!  Til next year!
